Large tarmac resurfacing overlay in Warrington.
North West Surfacing was asked to resurface a long private access driveway in Warrington that needed a cleaner, smoother and more hard-wearing finish. The project covered around 250m², making it a larger domestic resurfacing job with enough scale to show the team’s approach to preparation, overlay work and finishing detail.
The existing access drive had become tired and uneven in places, so the aim was to refresh the surface without losing the practical layout of the driveway. A new tarmac overlay gave the customer a smarter entrance, improved vehicle access and a more consistent finish across the full driveway length.

Location: Warrington
Project type: Large driveway resurfacing overlay
Surface: Tarmac
Approximate area: 250m²
Outcome: Refreshed access drive with a smoother, cleaner and more durable finish.
The brief
The customer needed a long access driveway resurfaced after the existing tarmac had started to look worn and dated. The driveway still served its purpose, but the surface needed a full refresh to improve the appearance and day-to-day driving experience.
The work
The team prepared the existing drive and installed a new tarmac overlay across approximately 250m². The resurfacing work was completed across the full access route to create a more even, consistent finish from the entrance through to the main driveway area.
The result
The finished driveway now has a cleaner look, a smoother running surface and a more practical finish for regular vehicle use. The project is a useful example of how resurfacing can improve a large driveway without requiring a complete redesign of the layout.
Before and after.
The before-and-after comparison shows the difference a tarmac overlay can make to a long access driveway. The resurfaced finish gives the space a tidier appearance and a more reliable surface for vehicles entering and leaving the property.

Why the overlay approach mattered.
For a large private access driveway, resurfacing can be a practical way to improve the finish when the existing layout still works but the surface has become tired. The key is making sure the existing drive is suitable for overlay, preparing the surface properly and finishing the new tarmac cleanly around the full driveway area.
This project shows the type of larger driveway work North West Surfacing can take on across Warrington and the North West, from private access drives to wider resurfacing and driveway improvement projects.
